This software offers users the opportunity to view Dosage Calc-Challenger questions through two main menu options:
The topical presentation of questions allows a user to access the questions when covering a specific topic or when a user needs additional practice in a specific content area. The "Challenge Yourself!" option allows the user to check their mastery of concepts across all of the topics. This option randomly draws 20 questions from all the topics. Use "Set your Question feedback Type" link below to select what type of feedback you want for the "Dosage Calculation Exercises" mode. You can select any of the following formats to display the rationale:
The third option in the main menu is "Check Your Calculations". This allows users to enter values into electronic calculators. The two calculators allow the user to:
This calculator offers a choice of solving selected questions using
the Formula Method, Also available from the main menu is About this Program, where you can find this help information, author and credit information, and the disclaimer and license agreements. For information on navigation please refer to the Navigation section below. Dosage Calculation ExercisesThe questions in this option are presented in a way that allows users to receive immediate feedback for answered questions and view the questions and answers simultaneously. This mode will allow users to explore the questions and associated answers within the context of the topic. The Dosage Calculation Exercises option will display a pretest and topics list from which a user can select. After a selection is made, the first question appears. Choose your answer by selecting the circle in front of your choice. Then
check your answers by clicking the " You may view the next question in the selected topic/Pretest by selecting

Challenge Yourself!The Dosage Calc-Challenger Challenge Yourself! section generates a randomly selected 20-question exam. This is referred to as Challenge Yourself! mode, as feedback is not provided until the entire exam is completed. The questions presented are drawn randomly from the available questions pool, providing an almost infinite number of exams, allowing users hours of practice. Dosage Calculation ExercisesThis allows users to enter values into two Electronic Calculators. Calculating Oral Medications, liquid injections and injections from powder Calculating IVs Step 1: Step 2: Users would be allowed to enter the information they have for each equation
and click " Both Calculators can also be reached by clicking on the "Dosage Calculator" link provided in the top-right of the interface in Dosage Calculations Exercises and Challenge Yourself! modes. This calculator offers a choice of solving selected questions using
the Formula Method, Note: These calculators are not designed as a substitute for understanding and computing these calculations independently and are not intended to be used in medical situations.
Printing InstructionsIf you are printing from Internet Explorer version 5.0 and later on Windows
system, click on the "Print" link provided in the top-right
of the interface. If the page to be printed contains only a single page
without frames, then the pop-up window will appear with the radio button
'All' selected. Then, click on the OK button. The page will be printed
as laid out on screen. If the page to be printed contains two frames,
in the pop-up window, use the 'As laid out on screen' radio button option.
Then, click on the OK button. The page will be printed as seen on screen. If you are printing from Netscape Navigator/Communicator version 6.0 and later on Windows system, click on the "Print" link provided in the top-right of the interface. If the page to be printed contains only a single page without frames, then the pop-up window will come up with the radio button 'All' selected. Then, click on the OK button. The page will be printed as seen on screen. If the page to be printed contains two frames, in the pop-up window, 'As laid out on screen' radio button option will be selected. Then, click on the OK button. The page will will be printed as seen on screen. If you are using Netscape Navigator/Communicator versions 4.7x or earlier on Windows or MAC system, click on the "Print" link provided in the top-right of the interface. If the page to be printed contains only a single page without frames, then the pop-up window will come up with the radio button 'All' selected. Then, click on the OK button. The page will be printed as seen on screen. If the page to be printed contains two or more frames, in the pop-up window, 'All' radio button option will be selected. These versions of Netscape browser can only print one frame at a time. So, even if 'All' option is selected, from the interface if you select print, it will only be able to print the contents of the bottom frame. If you want to print the contents of other frames, before you print, make sure you have clicked on a graphic or text in the areas you wish to print. Then simply select print frame... from the file menu (top-left) of the browser.
NavigationThe software has very basic navigation. Once the user has moved to Dosage Calculation Exercises, Challenge Yourself!, Check Your Calculations, or Introduction, a navigation bar will appear at the top of the screen. This navigation bar will allow the user to step back to the Home screen (the start screen for the software) or to the Dosage Calculation Exercises, Challenge Yourself!, Check Your Calculations, or Introduction menus. |
